Caribbean Gynaecological Endoscopy Services (CariGES)

CariGES is a medical service which offers advanced gynaecological laparoscopic (minimally invasive) surgery.

These methods (both laparoscopic and hysteroscopic) allowed for the use of smaller incisions (button hole surgery) so that patients experienced less pain, reduced bleeding and fewer infection. They recovered faster and were able to return to normal life in a few weeks rather than over a month. .

Since the 1980’s surgeons in Europe and North America have used telescopes, cameras and TV monitors to perform complex operations like fibroid removal and hysterectomies. The directors of CariGES believed that the time had arrived to make this cutting edge gynaecological surgery available to women in the region and have brought their skills together to do just that

CariGES has its business office at the Specialist Centre, Black Rock, St. Michael. All surgeries are performed at Bayview Hospital; a private and intimate 24 bed medical facility.
